Project Launch Celebration

On Wednesday, July 23rd, 2025, we gathered at the Egleston Library to share stories about gardening, food, culture, and resilience in Boston’s Egleston Neighborhood.

Check out photos and coverage from the event below!

“It’s really important to promote the community and increase localism; to be able to consume fruits and vegetables that are right from your backyard, as opposed to importing them from other countries and contaminating the environment through emissions. It really brings the neighborhood together when people see what you’re growing in your yard: they stop by and ask questions, and you might be able to inspire them to do it at their own house, too.

Rene Dongo, included our event in his podcast, Life Dasit.(Thank you, Rene!!) Rene is an awesome local artist and youth worker, and was also a member of our Community Advisory Committee. In this episode, he covers the Gardens of Egleston Event along with the Mayoral Forum on Arts & Culture that took place on July 30th, 2025. Check it out on Spotify by clicking on the “play” button to the right. Coverage of the GoE Project Launch Celebration begins at the 6:44 mark.

“Our community and our connection IS the solution.”
